"Why Should A Major League Baseball team hire you?"
Passion and experience! I've been to over 50 ballparks in 2 countries. I love getting out and watching the game. Traveling to other parks is awesome because it gives me the chance to see the game, the flair, and the food in every city. I enjoy engaging the fans and observing the cultural differences and fan reactions by ballpark.
I know I can't "just" be a baseball fan and expect to get hired by an MLB team. I have direct experience with multiple Social Media networks. I worked directly with my company's brand development team on ideas to drive consumer awareness and advertising, and was heavily involved with market research and strategies at Washington State University, where I received my Business Marketing degree. I was part of my company's Yelp pilot program in 2010, and have been used as a company model for establishing local market focus by using Twitter and Foursquare. I know how to get things done and how to have fun while doing it! I have a great sense of humor and a personality that stands out at home, at work, and during meetings. (That last one sometimes gets me in trouble…) The chance to join a Major League franchise would be a dream come true.
"Do You Really Think This Will Work?"
Sure! Major League Baseball marketing programs are evolving drastically and rapidly. The exciting thing is it creates opportunities if you can get the right support. There hasn't been a sport that's embraced online platforms, social media, smart phones etc., better than MLB. Major League Baseball created and continues to develop an exciting format with the MLB Network. They've established a fantastic smartphone app in MLB At Bat that had over 3 million downloads by the start of the 2012 season. Teams and the League are encouraging and driving two-way communication with fans on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and more. The game is going to get stronger as teams and the league do more to engage existing fans and excite new ones. So do I think a page like this will work? Yes, because it is the same kind of forward thinking that teams and the league are embracing today!
